It’s been three years since Akina started living alone in Tokyo. She was starting to have trouble. It’s been 10 months since she graduated from a vocational school and her parents stopped sending her money. She’s working in a job that makes use of her proud anime voice, but she doesn’t earn enough to live on from that alone. It’s hard to get work, and it’s irregular, so it’s hard to balance it with other part-time jobs. She’s been living a pretty poor life, but she’s starting to think that she can’t stand it anymore. In the first place, Akina doesn’t like voice work so much that she’s enthusiastic about it even if it means living a poor life. She chose this path because people around her kept telling her that her voice is cute, and there was no particular job she wanted to do. She’s lived her life with such a weak will. She thinks that she’s half-hearted. She really wants to go back to her parents’ house and work part-time nearby. She criticizes herself for giving up again halfway. She could quit, but her petty stubbornness won’t allow it. Her determination to try her best even if it’s difficult will be shattered when she hits the situation. Today’s part-time job was different from usual. I decided to do my best even though I was half-hearted about it.
